Query Letter Review
If you feel your manuscript is ready to go out on submission, this is probably the right choice for you. Over the course of my time at Algonquin and Abrams, I received and read thousands of pitches. I know what works and what doesn't, and I am excited to help your query shine. I will line edit your query letter and write notes on the first ten pages of your manuscript. Includes a 15-minute phone call post-edit.

Editorial Assessment
If you've finished your first draft, this is probably the right choice for you. I will closely read your manuscript and write you an editorial letter offering detailed analysis and concrete suggestions for what to work on next. This can include, but is not limited to, structure and plot, prose style, and continuity of theme and characterization. Includes a 30-minute phone call post-edit.

Developmental Edit
If you've got a solid second draft, this is probably the right choice for you. This service maps developmental feedback to a line-by-line level. I will closely read your manuscript and return a marked-up document containing comments about strengths and areas for development, as well as line edits for clarity, continuity, and flow. I will also provide a concise memo summarizing my comments. Includes a 30-minute phone call post-edit.

Line Edit
If you feel that your manuscript is fully developed, this is probably the right choice for you. I will line edit your manuscript for clarity, stylistic consistency, grammar, and flow.

Want the full package?
At a traditional publisher a manuscript would typically receive an editorial assessment, a developmental edit of your revised manuscript, and a line edit of your further-revised manuscript. I provide package rates for authors seeking this type of comprehensive editorial partnership. Commitment not necessary before receiving the first edit or letter.
